Question about the Fe3O4 Bar Graph

Hi, all:

Have had my F75 for two weeks and love it. I have a question on the Fe3O4 bar graph. How is the reading displayed? Is the mineralization factor simply high lighted? I can't seem to see any difference in the numbers, but then, my eyesight isn't the best. Can you tell if the detected itme is iron by looking at this graph (ie: bottlecaps, etc.)? This function has me a little mystified. Or, is it simply not working with my detector? There's not much in the manual on how this is displayed or any practical applications for using the info.

Just curious,

I think it is a reading of the iron minerals in the soil. The bars tell you how much iron is present and should be checked when ground balancing over clean ground [no metal present]. Correct me if I am wrong.

The reading is displayed continuously on the screen on the top right side, on the scale right under the word "dime". This happens as one is sweeping the coil. One can also pump the coil up, and down like you were ground balancing, and get a better reading. Do not activate the ground balance while your trying to get a Fe3o4 reading. This is explained in your user manual, at least what I just said is.

It is reading the degree of the ferrous content of the earth your sweeping over. If no reading, or a flash or two now and then, that would be your soil is very lightly mineralized.

Can the Fe3O4 Bar Graph be used to determine the FE content of tricky large iron or certain old bottle caps that have a high CO?

The fe304 graph will spike up over iron, I've noticed, even when it's a high tone. Also pay attention to the confidence meter.
