Question for Andy Sabisch

Andy, reading your WOT review I was surprized to see that you are a former Georgia resident.
The question(s):
How hard was it to find permission to hunt the areas you described in your review, and in general how hard did you find it to gain permission to hunt anywhere in Georgia?
My first two attempts left me VERY depressed, here I've got a nice detector (EXP II) and no place to go!
Any tips, pointers, contacts, basically any help you can provide whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!

Most of it is common sense (or so I would hope for our hobby!) but what helped the most is the possibility that permission is still granted these days.
It just seems society is so jaded these days, as if being taken advantage of is the only reason a stranger might want to contact them. A shame for sure, but I'll go out with renewed vigor, chin held high (but not too high!) and give it a go.
Thanks for the links, and BTW, hello to the board!!!

Das....your welcome ....never give this is a great hobby ....there are so many places to hunt, the world is a big place.....
Good Luck out here

Donny,
The issue "Varmit" raised was that Georgia has a law where you need WRITTEN permission to hunt sites that you do not own. Any private property requires written permission. Many of the sites that I once hunted freely in Georgia now require written permission.
Getting that permission does require a bit of finesse but as I have offered before, I am willing to share some of the techniques that work for me and others in getting access to sites others are not able to.
There are many sites still left in Georgia. Where do you live and I can see if I can give you a few leads.

Lawrenceville. I would consider a long drive as well, so I'm wide open so far as sites are concerned.
Thanks for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate your time and effort.

Hi Andy,
See you did a review on the WOT. Where can I find this. Very interested in the result.

Ray,
I found the review while browsing Doc's pages. In case the link doesn't work, you can find it by going to Doc's place (banner above), clicking on catalog, then going to page 2. Down a ways (2/3 or so) the WOT is listed, as is a link to Andy's review.
Looks like I'm going to have to do some business with Doc, but not too soon, I've got plenty of learning to do before I take that next step.
Enjoy...

Hi Varmint,
Thanks for the info on DOC's WOT test. Found it no problem. I use an Exp.xs and DOC's test was with the Sov.. In the past I have heard it said that the WOT is not tuned for the Exp. this is the reason I dont have one.
Thanks again
Ray.
