I have an MXT, which I love. However, when I go for casual coin hunting with friends, it

I had an MXT and had the same problem with headphones. I solved it by using earbuds. Actually I only put them in one ear and could hear fine. Got good quality ones for under $30 plus another buck for a 1/4" adapter from Radio Shack (gold plated no less). Worked fine for me. Jeff, if you are thinking about Whites detectors then there is none better than the XL-Pro for coin hunting(I had the 6000 Di Pro SL which is the older model). It is better to use it at a faster sweep speed though. It is a real cruising type unit and one can really go fast without missing a whole lot. It has the best meter system ever made so you may want to check it out before buying any other. Well, that is my opinion, if someone has one close by, check it out and see what you think.
