bill i know you do some tweaking on surfmater pi to get them down to 15 us is it possible to tweak a pi pro which 15 us further down to 10 us for more sesitivity to small gold items thank you in advance larry

Hello Bill,
I often wondered how the whites Surfmaster pi would operate so well with the mod getting it down to 15uS unless the coil was aready designed to operate at 15uS?. I'm sure 15uS is the cut-off on the coil and any faster than 15uS the machine would not operate as well unless you went with a faster coil.
Even if the Whites surfmaster could be set to operate at 10uS if wouldn't have the depth as the Goldquest SS or Aquasearch and yes the expense of having a coil special made for the whites pi would be better spent on the GQ or Aquasearch.

yes the goldquest will go much deeper because the coil is bigger i was jest thinking if you could tweak the circuit and put a 10 Us coil on would it work but its all about the moneys ive had a goldquest at one time but had to sell it because of some problems i had and now i have a pi pro today i was messing with the reverse discrimination does any body know on the knob scale you know one oclock and so forth were the shut of spots are if its at max gain then im asuming its tweaked all the way up to 15 uS so im thinking what is the preset 50 uS as i turn it down and still get a strong signal its probably iron but if it disapears around 9 oclock i would investigate the double beeps are usually boby pins or small nails im jest trying to get use to what the detectors trying to tell me anyway trying to figure out some sort of disc so dont spend alot of time digging junk but on the other hand ive been fakes out alot over the years with signals so its really for the pi would be to dig all suspected targets the double beep could be a chain ect any way thanks mr. bill also pauls imput to one other thing about the pi pro when i enter the water i get a loud signal then the sat adjusts itself and i hunt with the loop submerged works ok till i take it out of the water and a loud signal again and the sat adjests itself and all quiet again but when your at the surf line with the waves coming in and rolling over the coil it get quit annoying any body got any feed back on this a better way to deal with this its ok i can deal with it the goldquest did the same thing except yopu coould adjest the sat to speed it up so it almost went unnoticiable thats a big asset for the goldquest anyway thanks larry central ca.

Hi Larry.
With the Surfmaster PI Pro it can not operate a "reverse discrimination", because what use to be the pulse delay control is now a gain control. Cranking it back just lowers the receiver gain, and does not change the pulse delay. Pulse delay is fixed at 15uS. on the PI Pro.
Even on the older Surfmaster PI

paul thanks for the offer but it looks like your in the stockten area and im on the beach near san luis obispo i should have put central coast ca whoops larry now i see why the reverse disc didnt work so well on the surfmaster there is a nother plus for the goldquest ss oh well ill jest have to dig everything i usually do anyway hh larry
