Question for people familiar with the Explorers and the T2

Big Boys Hobbies

Does the T2 beep 3 times on shallow targets like the Explorers do when the 3 parts of the coil passes over the target? Or do you only get target response with the center of the coil?

Thanks in advance.

Stoops,

I do not qualify as an experienced T2 user. I will be interested to see what others have to say.

My observation is that it depends on the size of the target to a certain extent. If quarter is more than about 2" from the coil, you get just a single response when using a very slow sweep. If the coil is moving at a normal sweep speed for the T2, then the distance will be even less (about 1").

HH,

Well it is a DD coil and you get one beep in each direction but the T2 is so fast even in iron if there are a few targets right next to each other you will hear a beep for each target. With iron in the mix you will hear the iron and the targets that is about the best I can explaine it to you. Ask Calif Paul and Bill Ladd they are the experts.

Just lift your coil to evaluate close/large target size effects....MattR.UK

First hint of snow this morning....early dawn.

Should make for some cool finds with the T2.........!

Hello stoops,

I use both the T-2 and Explorer, Always experienced the T-2 coil detecting from the center of the coil on shallow targets, Never from the 3 parts of the coil.
