"Question for you UK guys"

I saw a detector on Ebay with a starting price of around $2500, it was a Saxon or something like that. Is it some secret superdetector hidden on the other side of the pond? how is it for relics.
I can remember using an Arado about 20 years ago, pretty powerful stuff, oh yeah also what is a Red Heat Tornado? I see them occasionally on Ebay.
I know there outstanding engineers working in the UK with a long history of developing excellent detectors we never hear about in the USA, I wonder how Minelab made such inroads and UK companies aren't hardley represented here at all?
I guess I'm just interested in information about your detectors?

saxon detectors arent super detectors as you phrased it mate. they are mid priced machines and used to be fairly big in the 80s.

The Red Heat machines are made by a small manufacturer over here and are extremely good machines. their current top range machine is the XD17 which runs on 17 k/hz which is perfect for our conditions and for finding hammered silver, roman and the very small iron age/celtic silver staters and gold staters/quarter staters.

yep i saw that one on e/bay america as well ,the seller is either a dreamer or a rip off merchant ,secondhand in the u.k that machine would fetch about 150 quid or just under 300 dollars ,they are a very low selling detector .the rave machine in the u.k this year (apart from the T2) is the xp goldmaxx power its a french machine 18khz very well made .and making a good name for itself for finding hammered coins .there are a lot of very good machines coming out of france at the moment and there is one near to release that might be quite good its a pulse machine with discrimination ,called the adonis i think .another supposedly ultra deep machine is the nexus quite weird looking as it has two coils joined together but supposedly does the job well .i'll stick with my t2 till i see if the f75 is better or not
