Question on F-5 COIL

C.J.M.

Can anyone tell me if the stock 11'' FISHER F-5 coil can be used on other Fishers or Teknetics detectors:shrug:Thank you:)

They might fit, especially if they are the screw on type, but in my limited experience switching coils between an F70 and an F5 the mismatched frequencies really screws things up.
A lot.
In the areas of depth, sensitivity, separation and everything else that matters to me.
No combination worked to my satisfaction near to what the matched coils can do.
My F70 has its own set of coils as does my F5 and I will not attempt to try mixing them up again.
Might be different using other units but not worth my money, time or effort to find out.
For me, anyway.

if the coil was designed for the F5, it will work on quite a few other models such as any of the teknetics Omega, Gama, Delta, Fisher f44 F-22 and many other models. Most said it will work on operate at 7.8 or 7.69 kHz, but you cannot share them with models that 13 gigahertz or four point something five point something because she'll have too much mix match.

Thank you guys :)

Thank you guys :)
No problem. That's part of what the forums are for.

Thanks for posting the F5 photo. Iy's good to see how some of our better models from the recent past can show off their very adjustable-selves in this modern era of different designs. I regret not buying mine 11 years ago ..... but i am certainly glad it is in my Daily-Use Team of detectors now. I keep the round 7" Concentric coil mounted for general-service daily use for a variety of urban Coin & Jewelry Hunting tasks. Now, all we need is for the weather improve. Spring can't get here soon enough.

I keep my F5 with the 5” factory coil as is. The F75 now wears either the 12x10 SEL Butterfly or the NEL Sharpshooter depending on the area I’m in. F5 gets the job in really trashy or close quarter stuff where coins/jewelry are main targets. Factory 11” rides in the backpack as backup.
