Question on Sunray Inline Probe and CZ3D

In trying out my New Sunray Inline Probe on my CZ3D in the snow I found that to get the probe to respond to a dime, I had to boost the sensitivity almost all the way up to the max. That was for a coin laying on the ground under an inch of snow. Is that normal? Makes me think the depth won't even be as good as my V2 with a coin in the ground. Maybe Ralph will see this and respond as well. Maybe I just need to get out and try it under real conditions.
 
I had one on my CZ3d and I would hit a dime at 3" with sesitivity at 4. A lot of folk don't realize that Fisher reaches their maximum depth at 4 sensitivity that is why when you up the sensitivity to 6 or higher it will usually false badly.

I would post this problem on the Sunray forum and give Ralph a chance to respond, he may recommend that you pack it up and ship it to them to be checked out. BUT OH YES, it should get better depth then the V2.
 
The first test was a clad dime. I just tried it again with a wheat penny and the probe responded at about an inch and a half from the penny at sensitivity of 3. Guess it is ok, but I am anxious to try it in the field. I probably just have too much time on my hands with this darn winter weather. As Emily Lattella used ot say on SNL - "Never mind"
 
I got one of the first probes out for my 3D and havnt had a problem.The probe is a 1" coil and ground balance your unit would be a good thing.If this a air test, they say that air testing is not a good thing to do,you could get false readings. One thing to try when your out hunting is on deep targets use the pinpoint with the probe you can get the spot where the target is. oh yea I am left handed and just got married, my ring caused problem, I didnt know what was going on,never ware rings and now I have too or else. You got a great combo.Have fun out there.
 
At least that little dusting of snow you have is going to melt soon. I've got 6 - 8" on the ground right now, and it ain't going anywhere until probably Febuary/March.

Man, I miss those Okie winters.

Come on down Allen. I've got the hang of this and starting to find silver consistently. You wouldn't have to be ashamed to hunt with me.
