Questions about pcb/coil replacement on buggy ATPROs

Hello,

I bought a used ATPro and it's the first series, I tried to hunt into a garden and it seems not too crazy, while indoor it makes too many chattter, especially at frequency F1.

Since I still own an AT Gold i tried to replace the two coils and it seems that the ATPro, with both coils, recognise the cable coil as a metal, and beeps. Instead, the atpro coil on the gold seems to work very well.

So I think that the problem could be something related to the cable shielding, but from the side of the control box.

Can someone confirm it? I've seen on internet that the replacement pack from Garrett has also a replacement coil, why? Is the coil also defective?

And... also: Someone on internet has reported a depth/performance decreasing after the pcb / coil replacement... Can someone confirm it? I've seen that any chatter disappears when lowering the sensitivity 2 or 3 levels down, and I don't want that Garrett will reduce the performance of my machine...

(Stunning performance, more than 30 cm on a 50 eurocent coin in mineralised soil... only the ATGold in all metal mode and 11" can do better)

Thank you
and sorry for poor english :)

Please call Garrett 1-800-527-4011, have your serial number handy, and they should have a better idea of when it was built.

Thank you but for me it's difficult to talk in english, i'm from Italy, do you think I can write an email to it?

Serial number is 50xxxxxx so I think it may be one of the first at pro ever produced...

Your serial number didn't work out as you can see. Email Garrett the number.

sales@garrett.com ask for Sue or Brad.

oK thank you, I made an email, let's wait for reply!
