Quick question on F75 deep targets

I been hunting the neighborhood yards this week, did find a 1924d merc, but was reading an article about deep target id. This article said, that when you get deep targets they will bounce all around and not lock in. Now when I dug that dime I did notice the id was bouncing around but the tone stayed good. I left several targets in the ground that showed around 10-12 inches and bounced around like a twist cap. Gonna go back and dig them and see what I might have missed. The article also said that some of those signals will only hit at certain angles and not others. I have been hunting beaches before looking for gold, so the deep coin hunting is kinda new to me, I appreciate any help you might have.

Thanks
Mike

You are on the right track. The F75 will bounce around on the TID, but dig those good, deep tones. Those 10-12" targets you left behind are probably good ones. Go get 'em!

Yeah, tnkayaker is right. If you are in one of the high tone modes, those deep high tone tic's and whimpers, even if the tone is broken between mid and high, on old sites they can be rewarding digs. Keep in mind, 10-12" deep readings are very seldom quite as deep as the reading. Good luck. HH jim tn

Luckily this site is only a block from the house, and I have only covered about 30% of the yard, so going back over it will be no big deal. As soon as the rain quits I will continue on and see what's there.

The ID and sound are on separate circuits. Sound can be a deeper alert on good targets for sure that are out of number ID range..

Ok that makes sense, I just got through using an at pro, and when you were on pro settings, the machine would go deeper than it could id, so it would just display nothing, and it seems the fisher is trying to display something it just don't know what to display.

If your looking for old coins and who isn't those kind of signals are just what the doctor ordered. This is where the silver is laying now that's its had 50 years or more to settle in.

I guess I had expected the numbers to lock in and give me a good repeatable signal, learning curve, lol. Good thing I haven't covered much ground yet, and sure thank everyone for all your help.

The ole f75 is a sneaky machine. Bouncing VDI#S with a high depth pinpoint in inches= a target worth digging IMO. Granted on the tiniest of targets the depth meter may lie to you, but sometimes target size can be determined by how it pinpoints. Going to AM with high sens can bring the VDI more to life sometimes as well.

After a few days now, I am learning more and more about the F75. I really like it, I pulled a watch fob at 12 inches today, found 2 slivers 1917s, and 1924d merc and 3 wheat's 1917,1918,1919 all in the neighborhood yard. Now I intend on going back to the first yard I hit with the F75 since I didn't pull a single coin from it that was old, and its only 2 houses down from the other one. I think now that I have learned more about the VDI numbers bouncing and what is a good target and what ain't, I expect to find some goodies there now as well. Also kinda wondering about some areas that I have hunted with the F70, and didn't realize about the depth and the VDI numbers probably act the same, so I intend on checking some of those areas again as well.
