thought you guys might like this one.with permission from owner naturally.old 1800's home place,which is now an unfarmed field.owner had burned it off so stubble was only a quarter in high to non existent.just had to run im-am for first time.dug square nails and other junk.(i always begin in a new place by digging iron to date a place)got one pie safe lock-and the usual don't know what it is pieces.a good one on my brother was the fact he got a readig with his fisher 1266x and didnt want to dig it out-too deep?-he said it was a good reading-asked me to check it.right up my alley.the se with 4.5x7in coil said coin then iron back and forth.pleased to find a heavy iron ring like it came off a single tree or double tree.inside edge had heavy wear in one spot.then he started another spot and asked me to check it.dug out very large cut nails,pieces of glass,pieces of little brown jug,small amount of charcoal then down at arms length a piece of thin metal wider than the hole so we gave up and cloed the hole.will return monday with long handles and find out the rest of the story.so far no buttons,no coins,but brother found a thick piece of brass 1.5 inches long.has 3 orientals on it each one holding fans in their hand oriental house in background and top right has chinese or japanese writing.sorry no pics,,maybe later when i learn how.hh to all.
