Qustion: does the new carbon fiber pole work on the Exp XS & Exp II ?

Unlike the XS lower shaft, there is no groove to insert the coil cable in to. It's much easier to change coils. Also, Minelab has discontinued the XS upper shaft and lower shaft for the Explorer XS. What is currently available are the Explorer II standard lower shaft, "Tallman" lower shaft (4" longer than standard) and II upper shaft. This is also true for the new Quattro: same 2 lower shafts and the blue upper shaft. As a reminder: all Explorer coils and accesssories are compatible with the Quattro. Good hunting, David @ Dixie

Might want to add the new lower shaft is made of a more durable plastic and doesn't seem as whippy. Indeed hard to explain but fits perfect and shows Minelab is constantly trying to upgrade its products.Tall man rod was a long time coming and should make some of our tall treasure hunters quite happy..
