Rick, the help with the 180 kit appreciated.Critter earlier post you mentioned the mount for a ML meter, notice this gives more positions and no drilling, just thumb screws to secure. Thanks Ron

How well can you see it..... its a bit far down the shaft and how about the affects of sunlight? If i ever get a SOV ill be looking you up.... and trying to figure out a way to mount it on the top of the handle. Us old guys cant see crap any more. Im still on the fense about trading my SE for a SOV. Id hate to loose the advantages the SE gives me OFF the beach even thou looks like living in fl i wont be using it much for that.

Dew,the Explorer is a great detector and I keep one in my arsenal to use along with a Fisher 1235X.The Sovereign is my favorite detector , for me this detector was very difficult to learn when I first started. One new to this detector will have to put some time in the field to be effective and appreciate the Sovereign. The Sovereign for deep targets requires the extra sweep or wiggle with the search coil. With the meter placed lower on the rod asm you see the meter and coil at the same time and get a better meter coil coordination to lock on target more efficient. The meter probably for most users could be a little closer.I have found the meter on the handle is too close and awkward line of sight. Thanks Ron
