Sent in my CZ-20 on Oct. 21st and got it back today to find the unit completely repaired and no charges. Now that's how you do business and the reason I own 3 Fishers, and still thinking of purchasing the Fisher 3D. Thanks Michelle and Fisher Labs for your great, A1, Fabulous Warranty, and Service. <img src="/metal/html/super.gif" border=0 width=26 height=28 alt=":super"> God bless....

I bought the unit in the end of August, and for some reason my batteries leaked in the compartment, and really messed up the all of the attachments needed to supply juice to the unit. Fisher repaired it to its original state....thanks fisher
 
Were they rechargeable? I have two brand new 9 volt batteries, ready to be put in use once my Duracell's run out. Risky business, I'll wait for a reply first.

How old were they..in a detector shop the other day when a fellow came in as his main detector had a switch broken. His backup wouldn't work like it should...checked his batteries and yep they expired in 2002..I found an old flashlight where the batteries leaked and really caused a problem. Heck even new ones could be faulty and leak, but I know for sure old ones eventually will...no matter what brand..
 
The Batteries were only in the unit for no more than 4 weeks, I know it was about that time because the last time I used it to do some water hunting was about three weeks after Labor day. I sent the unit in on Oct. 21st.
So I'm going on Dan's thought that I'm smart enough to know how old the batteries were, and that the batteries were either defective or that something over loaded in the unit while I was working with it in the water.
I just could not believe that the batteries leaked being so new. The main reason I posted this post is to Praise the Fisher Lab Company for backing up their warranty even when we are not smart enough or are forgetful of how old our batteries may be, or how long they have been in a unit, and have a company like Fisher back their product, hey it didn't cost me anything except delivery charges...HH.

Actually a true story...guess his backup hadn't been used in a while...takes all kind I guess...
 
Indeed like all things they can be faulty new or leak prematurely. Most companies will not cover this type of damage so a tip of the hat to Fisher...Indeed I am aware of your detecting abilities and surely know how old your batteries are...
 
What I was saying is someone like Philo surely knew how old his batteries were.
 
Fabio.... I always suggest that everyone ask the company that makes the unit they are using if you can use those type of batteries. Better safe and sorry as some makers will not honor their warranty by using rechargeable batteries that cause damage to their machines...hope this helps...

Mike sent me an email to check my battery cover for a hairline crack in the ears (where the screws go in) Seems he's not the only one to have the problem (his service guy had another one just like it), so it just might be a defect in the cover.
I sent mine out for repair 5 weeks after I bought it (for another problem) <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":("> perhaps they changed the cover then?
All in all, Fisher I'd agree with you that Fisher service was great.
Anyway, I thought I'd let you know.
