are back in the holding area, the sand has given up it's riches for another year. Some of us were able to uncover some nice pieces, while others were not so lucky, but everyone got something. There were give or take 10 to 16 hunters at the beach at any given time, some followed the rules and others just thought they were above the rules, but all and all, it was a very slow year compared to last year, and last year although another slow year, brought some quality pieces, enough to offset the numbers not seen the year before...

This year, the finds came in all three sections of the beach... In the water where I got my best piece, a 14KT mens ring at 7 grams. The shallow water, and the shore line, down to the mud or the tides neg. pos. line. Yesterday, I had a feeling to give the beach a visit.

The beach was completely deserted, just a few walkers on the broad walk and sand dwellers. The shore line and other parts of the beach had taken a significant change in character, the sand at the shore line had eroded onto the small ridge that we have when low tide happens. I went to the older part of the beach that didn't see much action this summer, a section where there is no radio playing, and I was getting desperate because it was getting late and I had not dug many targets.

But, while I was working the mud area, I got the signal and this time I didn't have to wonder if it was gold or foil, because a very small area of gold was showing through the sand... Yes.. a Name Bracelet.... Elsie... what's best is that it's 18KT gold and came in at 12 grams... The Lord bless me with my best find at the end of the season, go figure, and how many of the others had just walked around this gem...... Enjoy folks...

Here are the totals for this years finds at the beach, and remember, I had missed a few weekends because I was working, but was told by the other hunters that I didn't miss much, as they had not faired as well on finds also...
