Hi Tony,
It's been so long when I used this unit and then sold it on e-bay. I do remember I had to ajust the unit to find the sweet spot with the bigger coil.
At the time I didn't know anything about Pi's but did get it to operate well to ring size conductors by guessing and ajusting here and there, Boy, I look back at myself and laugh at the things I did. In fact, While waiting for the coil to arrive I mounted in an old BFO coil and it worked after ajusting the unit. Didn't have any depth with the BFO coil but it still worked at in the wet sand.
The depth was not anywhere's the pi units we have today but did a decent job. Just had to adjust the unit every several minutes to maintain a steady threshold.
AquaSport is what my unit was after Eric pointed this out, I remember now as it was the Auquasport I had.
Ask Aquascan if one of the upgrades to this machine is it able to maintain a steady threshold without the user needing to adjust the unit every few minutes? Other than that it should be a good unit.
