To our American friends who will be visiting .

"I hope you have good weather and 'fields of gold and silver'"

Here is a recent shot of one of 'King-john's' fields which we have 'ploughed' with our T2s.

The late afternoon's wintry sun casting its long warm glow on the maize stubble.

A great day out with your mates, then it's time to go home...

Home are the hunters, home from the hills, and the evening sun sinks low.............MattR.UK

That looks like some of the field we hunt here in North and South Carolina for civil war relics. Sure would love to get in some of your fields.

Hi Dick...

Funny, but I often think the same thing....to visit the USA and meet the lads over there, and walk your fields. To me, it's as much as who you share the day with, as it is about what you find.
Believe me, it isn't all treasure at every step here.
Often a day brings only the standard bits of metal. But there is always that hope of finding something old...

Yeh...another old saying, "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence".........Not if Stu, John or Coen have been there with their T2s !!!!!!!!

Where ever you go today, whatever you do, have a great time....regards..Matt.

If only the environmentalist really new how much trash is in the ground we would really have and ally in the hobby of metal detecting. I don't really consider myself a an environmentalist, but that is just what we do, clean the environment.

Beautiful county Matt,

Thanks for sharing your side of the pond with us, Maybe someday if all goes well I'll venture over to your area.

You guys and gals live in a wonderful place, Rich with history.

Thanks again,
Paul

I went over to the U.K. I had purchased a swing harness from a fellow and he invited my friend and I to one of their club meetings. The folks that belonged to the club brought some of their great finds and let us take a look at them what a nice nite that was and we saw some incredible pieces. The next day another fellow dropped by one of the fields we were on and brought some of his finds.. Great Folks, Great Detectorists, Great Time, what else is there?? HH..Geo

Probably made my last trip to the U.K. but if you have the opportunity give it a go..... Nugget shootings my game but I'll look for old gold anywhere....
