re lower shaft by JHM

Hello JHM. You mentioned about a week or so ago that there is a dealer in the states that sells longer lower shafts for the Quattro. I was wondering if you could find out who the dealer is and what price they are in US dollars and if they are made by minelab or are after market units. I will try to contact minelab US and find out what they have to say. I played host to a new fellow in the metal detecting game for about three days of hunting as he was up from Victoria in the bottom end of aussie on holidays I am from Queensland the northern state. he had bought a new Quattro late last year and the oval bit on the end of the lower shaft that goes into the top end has worn so bad that with the cam lock on the rod turns round quite clearly and just drops out when he lifts the detector of the ground. He has to tape the shaft to the top end to be able to use it so he uses the Excalibur were possible. My machine is only a couple of months old and I noticed that when fitting the lower shaft that it was a loose fit from new. I am six foot and have the rod extended out as far as I can and the coil and rod move around quite a bit. Have any of you noticed this? I need a longer rod as I hunch over the machine when using it, not good for my back. I would think that the explorer would use the same set up and if they have a longer rod then it may fit the Quattro. Stan. From Australia.
