I am the individual who the artifact in question was sent to and to whom the website www.copperculture.homestead.com belongs. It makes me positively ill when individuals who know nothing about the value of items are so quick to jump in and tell others what something they know nothing about is worth. No 5 1/2" Copper Culture spear point is worth $800 - $1500, "or a lot more" as the respondent here stated. Is the idividual who made this uninformed statement willing to pay anything approximating the ludicrous value he has attached to this nice but far from priceless copper point, I'd guess no. As a collector who has found more than 2000 copper artifacts with metal detectors over a 30 year period and purchased hundreds more I can speak with some authority on the value of such pieces.
