Today I was talking long distance to a good friend and he commented on all the interesting information that has been posted on this forum recently, especially about different coils and their applications. He commented on how world-wide the discussion had become. I later thought about what my friend had said.
JVP asked a snowball sized question about a coil for a specific need and that question has generated an avalanche of fantastic information from some of the real powerhouses in the detector industry from across this wide world of ours.
What a fantastic concept, world-wide discussion to find a common solution to a basic problem. I am truly humbled by the fact that such knowledgeable people would take time from their busy schedules to provide the detailed information they have.
I feel they all deserve a compliment and a very special thanks. Their efforts in this matter clearly display the quality of the human factor that drives their businesses. Clearly, all are in tune with needs of their customers or potential customers of their products.
I for one have learned a tremendous amount recently, not only about the technical aspects of coils or different detectors, but also of the people who design them. This increased knowledge has given me a totally new perspective of them and their products. Hopefully, other people feel the same way I do.
Again, I just want to say thank all of you for taking time from your busy schedules to participate, and hope the discussion continues with the enthusiasm it has to this point.
