I keep reading to set the silencer, raise the reactivity but later in the V3 manual it says "The Reactivity menu takes precedence over the silencer..."
Can someone 'splain the whole reactivity vs silencer thing to feeble minded me?

Basically . . .

- Reactivity controls the recovery time between signals
- Silencer removes the noise / chatter caused by ferrous trash or severe ground mineralization

What the manual is saying is that since the Silencer option is under the EXPERT option on the Reactivity menu, if you change Reactivity, the Silencer value will change to the default value that the factory sets for each Reactivity value . . . . simply go in and adjust the Silencer as needed AFTER you adjust the Reactivity

Hope this helps

Andy
