about this guy who has been hunting for rebel gold for 20 years.
"the Knights of the Golden Circle, buried their treasure in a vast network of remote locations across the South and the Southwestern United States" says the ad.
This guy claims they cached gold and silver in all southern states. Left cyphers on trees and rocks.
Anybody have any experience with any such events or hear anything about this before? any thoughts on this claim?
Might be worth pursuing if you live in right place. I'll probably get the book.

Sounds like a good story, and makes you dream of being the one to find something like that. But this dude has looked for 20 years and hasn't found anything. If he would have looked for gold nuggets in gold country for 20 years he'd be far richer! Finding a cache of gold would be the ultimate though.

In this movie they had been hunting for the treasures hidden by the signers of the Declaration of Independence for generations.
I'm not a fan of Nick Cage but he actually did a great job.
This is a funny, exciting, and family friendly movie! No nudity, nothing offensive. I think it is probably PG.
It was really a treat to see an enjoyable movie for a change!

that doesn't mean he has not found any gold. He may just be smart enough to keep his mouth shut.
But I figure it's one of three things.
1) he's telling the truth and knows he can never find it all
2) he's an absolute nut just looking for his 15 minutes of fame. I mean after all he claims to have wondered around these woods for 20 years and done nothing else...
3) he and the author just want to sell lots of books.
Fantastic stories are far more likely to sell than some boring tale.
But I figure if it's legit - he's not the only one who has ever heard of this group and made similar discoveries.

I JUST CAME ACROSS THIS POST ,I GREW UP ABOUT 10 MILES FROM WHERE THIS WAS FOUND
AND I STILL LIVE IN THE AREA -I AM 55 AND I HAD AN OLE MAN 88 TELL ME 40 YRS AGO THAT HE HEARD IT WHEN HE WAS A KID .
YES I WATCHED THE SHOW ON NIGHTLINE --WAPANUCKA , OKLA I KNOW A LOT OF THE HISTORY THAT HAS BEEN HANDED
DOWN IN THAT AREA --CURTIS--,ADA,OKLA

This all sounds really interesting. Even if only part of this story is true, there would be quite a bit of value given the historic worth as well as the current value of gold. Here's a site about a guy digging a garden in Austrian and ran into some medieval jewelry.

Granted, this is in Europe but I'm sure there are some large caches of coins, precious metals, etc. that are still out buried in the US. We all have to dream or else we wouldn't be metal detectorists. HH

[size=large], .DOC,
that movie has been out for years. the newest sequel is, ""Nat'l Treasure : Book of Secrets" it's been out since last year. now that was also good. gold treasure city of the indians. hidden by our gov't by chisling the MT. Rushmore monument and destroying landmarks tht would lead to the city.
i really gotta wonder how many people went there looking for the lake at the top or like me, looked it up on google maps. the story makes just enough sense. carve statues out in the middle of no-where? the indians resented it. it was done on sacred ground. they didn't want it. no more than they want the new one of chief sitting bull. they take it as an insult to the lacota indians. maybe they are hiding clues to vast treasures.:wiggle:
