Recalling a glorious fall day..

At a very small lot in town where a house once stood. Lots of old buried cable and countless nails. Found the 1917-D SLQ, 4 inches down resting next to a broken bottle-top with the old bottlecap still twisted on.

My buddy Jim unknowingly walked up on the nest because his head was down concentrating on his detector. Good thing they were gone for the season.

I skunked my buddy with an Ace 250 up against his Exporer II.....he was shaken. But oh did he ever get even with me within the next two weeks after. But that is for another day...enjoy !

And just for the record, I took the pictures of the hive on our next visit. Did'nt have the camera on the day I found silver..(of course).

i was swingin in an old apple orchard one fine WARM summer day.( Mmm...i used to know what warm felt like 'round here)
Anywho, i sat to rest against a apple tree and eveen with my real mbad hearin' i could hear a low hum.
I looked 'round and finaly saw that i had sat down and leaned against a hole in the tree that was a yellow jacket nest.
To this day i could not tell you why they didn't flat out attack me.

Oh yeah.....REAL SWEET silver there Dave
