Recent Ghost Hunters at Gettysburg

Did anyone catch the recent episode of Ghost Hunters at Gettysburg? Did anyone notice that Adam was carrying a metal detector on battlefield grounds? It shows up a couple of times during a short part of the segment as they're walking in the dark outside the Farnsworth Inn.
 
The Farnsworth house isn't park property.
 
I seen that. Split second shot but I thought I was seeing things. SO now I know thats what I seen, thanks for verifying I'm not totally crazy.
