Relic Buckle?

New member
I found this buckle at a 1928 house in an older area that could have had 1700s or 1800s activity. It was about a foot down in sandy soil and I was pleased that my new DFX easily picked it up so deep.. It's totally unmarked but made of brass. Anyone have a clue as to the age? 1930s women's dress belt or a 1700-1800s military buckle?
