Relics from a worked site!

Golden

Member
Hello all. A few relics found from an old site I've been detecting on for years now. Amazing what comes out of the ground still.

I had a (late) hunting buddy who always said " a site is never hunted out !"

Many times he proved to be right.

So did you, Golden, with those nice relics.

Don't tell me the dented wheel is AGAIN part of a pocket watch !!:bouncy:

HH

Nick the Belgian.

:rofl:Gidday NIck! No, not the dented wheel thing! Actually, the two round bits just below the green glass ink well! One is the edging of a fob watch, the other is the front lid of one. It actually has some etching on the inside. One word I can make out is "Berry", obviously a name for the person who owned the watch. But it didn't come out very clear in the photos so I didn't bother to post it.
You love my collection of fob watch parts!

So your reputation is made, now...

Onde day, you'll unearth a...Golden pocket watch...

Gidday Nick, now THAT would be a find! Actually still looking for the elusive gold sovereign. I know of a guy who after 20 years detecting, he finally found one. Now I know I'm looking in all the right areas! Guess I'll have to keep trying the old bridle tracks where the old Cob & Co. coaches used to travel. Found a few coins along some routes detecting.
