Repairing CZ coil?

I need some help repairing a broken coil wire. The break is just below or inside the box connector. (Keep getting a bell tone). The detector isn't under warranty. Can the connector be removed from the wire without any special tools? If anyone has attempted this with success I would appreciate your input.
