Report from California...

Hey everyone,
Well I told myself I wouldnt post here from California until I found a gold nugget with my GTI 2500, but that hasnt happened yet. And I have looked very hard for those little suckers...ha, but good thing i have my dredge as back up.

I have met some awesome people here and have made some good friendships while being here. I have only met 3 people that have found gold nuggets here with detectors. They are harder to find here since this area is national forest and has lots of overburden.
Up river on the Klamath about 30 miles or so it get more arid and more desert looking with more bedrock. I am aiming my next nugget hunt there if I can afford gas to drive it.

This is definatly PI country here, VLF'S go nuts along side rivers and creeks with all the hot rocks. About an hour of that noise and its time to quit, but I usually push it an hour more. I did find a gold mine in the hills and the GTI 2500 was smooth as silk and found lots of lead and nails. But nearer to water these VLF'S are insane.

I was living in a tent for 2 months and it was getting old for sure. So therse guys from Wisconsin had a 18 ft Palomino RV tht they didnt want to drag back home with them, so I cashed in my gold I had found so far and bought it from them for $1800. And wow I feel much better having a little house around me now. I'll do a pic of it under this post.

The dredging is fun and I have a video of me dredging on YOUTUBE, heres the link to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTvxmNR1OJc

If the money allowed I would have an Infinium by now for the hunts here but will hold out maybe until dredging season is over.

Heres a pic of my bud Ron I met first week here, he was hunting with a Master Hunter CX, hes still here and we hang together me and his wife. And also a pic of me dredging and then a pic of my RV bought with dredge gold.

Ive been reading the forum here couple times a week and was killing me not to post but now Im tired of waititng for my nugget to show, so here I am,back with my Garrett friends,

Take care and HH,
Alan (Ga) now in California

Thanks for taking the time to make and post your video. Pretty cool! Nice gold! Also looks like you got a good deal on your trailer too.

That looks like a very pleasant part of the country Al. Glad to see you living your dream. It's good if you can make a living with something that you love. You seem to be doing fairly well in the gold department too.
Mick Evans.

Interesting post..Thanks for sharing..

Great finds, and a neat video.
