Right Handed Lesche Digger

Kimber

New member
Just received my right handed Lesche digger (cutting teeth on the right side) and will see how it compares to the left handed (original) one tomorrow morning..

I took a 3/16 round file (chainsaw chain file) and put teeth on the other side. It took about 20 minutes. The new teeth cut better than the original teeth.

I know nothing about the history of Lesche but are they actually made left handed or are you just assuming that. I can't imagine all the Lesche's out there were made for lefty's since they are a small portion of the population.

They used to all be made for lefties. I think it's because George Lesche is left handed. I like having teeth on both sides.

Took me a little bit to get use to the left handed part of it but no biggie. I will say this, it gets as sharp as a razor blade with use. The saw tooth will cut your hand in the blink of an eye if your not careful. It rips through roots like a hot knife through butter. Love it.

I have to admit that I would like the teeth on the other side as well. I have gotten used it the way it is, but it would be better for me the other way around.

It's easy to cut the grooves. Draw a strait line across the blade to the other side centering each tooth. Then take a 3/16 round file and file strait into the blade about half way of the file diameter. Then angle the file in the grooves and cut the teeth.
