Ring, possibly quite old?

Hello, I found this ring from our land in Finland a few weeks ago. Just hoping it's as old as it looks.

 
It looks to be Celtic by the symbol in the middle of the ring and looks to be made of iron. Have you tried cleaning or scraping a bit off the ring?
 
if it is indeed iron, it would be magnetic. Probably brass or bronze. Iron rusts in most soils and would not be in such good shape.
 
could it possibly be a seal ring?
