Its 3 degrees above zero winds at 28 miles per hour gusting to 40 miles per hour which means a windchill between -25 below zero at 28 miles per hour and dropping to around -30 below zero here at Houghton Lake.

From the weather map and what I have seen on TV looks like the whole state from Ohio boarder to the furthest tip of the Upper Penninsula is closed. Good day to read a good book.

Unfortunately for me I had to go out to put sheet metal screws into the exterior of my house before the wind ripped off the sheet metal. Ever try NOT waking up the family (birds, dogs and people) while dragging a ladder through the house? Well good news everyone got to sleep and Casey has no school. Oh yeah, guess come spring I might find the cover to my snow blower that seems to have been launched in the wind.

So I haven't even had my first cup of coffee yet....hope your day is going better than mine has so far.

Be careful if you are in this arctic cold and snow. Be safe and warm.

It is 7 degrees here with much lower wind chill. Unfortunately we got very little of the white stuff, it plum blew away! I think we had plenty hit the ground, but it blew clear over to Lake Erie! No school here either! Too Icy!

not drifts just a full street of snow. Ours is a south to north street. The wind was out of the south or southwest which resulted in it (wind) getting up under the sheeting next to our porch (and under the roof). All the rattling made us think we were going to lose a lot of sheeting it it got ripped off. Had no choice but to get out and screw it down this morning. Had it happen once before but we thought we had a 'critter' up there and it fell through. Learned something new.
