Rumor or some basis of fact: New T2 classic has Partial DST electronics ??

Elton

I have read in several postings in different avenues the new Classic T2 has some electronic changes. Some of the abilities of DST technology were incorporated.
Does anyone know if this is fact or fiction. It was also stated the new T2 classic is not as deep as the original T2 due to the partial DST electronics. Like the F75DST counterpart is purported to be. But, it has
Far less EMI issues.. This would allow more productive scanning in areas that before were prohibitive because of EMI in my opinion....

Can anyone verify this rumor.. Or is it just that a rumor ????????

I want to state I am not trying to start rumors.. I honestly read this about the T2....

What is DST ?? Digital Shielding technology ???? More wire wrap ???..Shielding to protect inner electronics from being corrupted by outside source ???
Some type of added protection on the coils ??? Both maybe!. My problem with it only being that is ..Why would that affect the depth ?? if it in fact does.. Seems it would have to include some type of raw power output lessoned in conjunction with interference of outside electrical sources being blocked by some means.

I guess that would be simple enough to add to any detector that didn't have it originally. But that brings to question..If better electronics, and shielding are being used..why is it cheaper retail priced.

Well think of the original T2's versions of 5.0, 5.1, 6.0 etc....

The T2 classic is 9.0, and DST is 9.1 on the new Limited editions which you can switch between the two.

The low retail on the Classic is First Texas Products way of saying Hey we offer you the best product at the best price....period !

And all competitors can do is wish that powerhouse detector was theirs.

DST is a filter or emi notch I believe. Shielding can help some but 99% of the EMI typically comes in through the coil. It can affect depth because because it can also cancel weak signal response of deep targets. Also, I believe on the F75/T2 they took out a little gain and slowed the target snapshot a little to make up for it. This is why I think 9.0 on f75 and T2 classic are better with EMI. DST on 9.1 if feel gives the full gain back but applies filter. I say this on speculation of course. Because All Metal is deeper in 9.1 vs 9.0 but disc is deeper in 9.0 vs 9.1 on the f75.
