Brian and Billy

Our surgeon called from Vanderbilt last Wednesday and after reading the results of the CT scan felt like there wasn't enough tumor growth to cause any additional concern. He said surgery at this point would only be cosmetic and wouldn't help relieve Brian's pain. It would only add to it.

Brian's pain is only moderate now, he seems to be feeling better than last week. All we can do now is monitor the pain as best we can and we are getting great help from our home-health nurse, his pediatrician and the entire pain management team.

We are finally caught up with the hit show Lost. The last few weeks we watched seasons 1-5 and now Brian has me up to speed and ready for season 6 which premiers Tuesday, Feb 2nd at 8pm. (I had to put a plug in here for Jorge Garcia and the rest of the cast and crew).

Jorge...you're awesome dude!! Hmmm...I wonder what shirt Brian will wear for the premier??

Now, about Billy...

...Billy is a 19 year old who worked for his father in a small store that I frequent. We would talk fishing when he was working...usually the first thing he would ask when I walked in was..." you been fishing lately?" Billy was full of youthful exuberance and always had a smile on his face. Then I noticed he hadn't been working so I asked about him and his dad told me they had found a malignant tumor on his spine. It is a tumor that is rarely seen before the age of 60!!

His dad told me last week that they finally took their Christmas tree down the day before. Billy has been in the hospital since mid-December and they hoped he would be released soon and they could finally celebrate Christmas at home together as a family. I talked to his dad today and Billy is in a lot of pain. His condition is similar to Brian's, he can't walk or do any of the things he loves to do. Like fishing. They hope he can come home from the hospital soon.

His dad told me they are believers and that the doctors have done all they can and that they are holding onto the ONE true HOPE. Please pray for Billy!!

Please pray that I can take Billy and his dad fishing this spring!!

Thanks for all of your prayers!!

Doug, Carol and Brian

Praying for everyone in Jesus' precious name! Satan is the destroyer but he is a LIAR! Our Lord and Savior, Jesus, will work this all out for His good and for His purpsoe! He's the One and Only, Who will get the glory whether Brian and Billy stay here or go Home to Glory and be with Him forever more!

Fear not for God is with us, and if He is with us, who can be against us??? Certainly not, Lucifer, called satan, for he is already defeated at the cross of Calvary and though he may win a few battles, he can never win the war! We've Victory in Jesus and will arise unto Him, some-glad-day and be rejoicing eternally in His most precious love, mercy and grace! May God bless each of you and do miracle healings while here in mortal bodies! Amen! Ma & gamma Betty!
