Running gp-4000 in inverted mode

Gus in idaho

New member
Has anyone had success finding large deep nuggets running the gp-4000 in inverted mode?
I guess my question is Can a large nugget that would normally have a reverse sound to it be heard easier running it in inverted mode, giving it a positive sound.
I have found a couple large nuggets that had the reverse sound to them and can only imagine how much louder and more pronounce they would have sounded if they had the standard positive sound to them.
I can see this new feature to the gp being one of the most important for find large nuggets deep.
I feel that many large deep nuggets have been past over because of the reverse mellow sound, much like mineralization.
I know because I almost left a 3 ouncer in the ground. Swinging my gp-3000.

You don`t need to upgrade:lmfao:!!!lol.I do believe the question is a good one,If your lucky enough to walk over one of these signals I think the 4000 having that function could make a bigget nugget stand out like a sore thumb.I guess you just anylize each target with this function if needed by inverting the signal(hoping for positive response?)I guess you don`t really want to hunt this way with respect for smaller stuff?

Marc,
Yeah, I think you right about missing the smaller targets running in invert.
But I think it would be best used, going back to patches that have already yielded nuggets. Those big ones that I found were so faint in sound that I almost did not even dig them. I truly did not think there was even a real target till I was down a ways. Plus the area I was hunting had hot spots of mineralization. As you discovered there as well.
Hey by the way those are awesome photos that Gerry took of you in Alaska
Congrats on a real nice nugget.
I have had that photo on my screen saver, and I actually got to meet than man who found it.

Hey Gus
Thanks Bud!I`m honored! It was not big but pretty for a AK nugget!

I have heard now a few times about those larger(1+ouncers), deep nuggets giving a reverse signal with a PI,Someone like you that has...lets just say an amazing ability at hear these signals that most us interpret as ground noise as a target to investigate would definately benefit re-hitting a productive spot using that setting.I understand now... what you would be listening for!
Believe me folks this guy has ears that need insurance:surprised:I can think of a couple of places you may need to revisit and test this theory..:super:lol!

Talk to ya later
