S.E.F. 10 X 12 coil rocks!!!!

I never was able to pull any silver out of this park until yesterday when I used the 10 X 12 coil for about 4 hours. There are sites where this coil does an amazing job at getting what didn't seem to be there before with the other coils on my Explorer.
That token says "Take Me Back To A. Zirwes And Get Your Reward".
And a cool 1933 Dog Tag.

AWesome!!I felt the same way when i bolted on my 18x15 s.e.f the 1st time..I couldnt believe the signals screaming at me i didnt hear before.Im thinking of the 10x12 as a pro coil replacment.Keep us informed how you like that bad boy!Grats on all that silver!HH

Have you used the Pro Coil there before this one? Curious as to whether you think it's better than the Pro. Nice finds BTW.

It's the coil that finds my goodies 99% of the time too....and has been for over a year now...but let's keep it quiet.

We don't want too many of the 10 x 12 SEF coils swingin' around our IL and IN parks until we have hit a few more of them ourselves.

Nice finds BTW

I agree, First time out with my 10 X 12 and got my first Barber, A 1892, sure was pretty, first barber dime I ever got. Didnt think there were any in S E Iowa. I also got 2 Mercs, a 39 and43 Best day Ive had in quite awhile. When I learn a little more about this computer,I can post some pictures. Ive learned a lot about my S E Pro from you guys Thanks alot STUBBS1

Now that's a winner of a hunt!

I'd have been just as happy with that dog tag and no silver, but you got both!!!

I've been using my explorer II for a month now. I haven't had the depth I thought I would get out of it. It has a 10" stock coil on it. How much of a difference would I notice investing in SEF 10 X 12.
My setting on explorer pretty close to what Bryce suggest. Thanks Bryce.
Any other suggestions for depth would help.

You're more than welcom friend.

I personally believe you will notice a nice difference by going with either the pro coil or the SEF coil over the stock 10" coil.

I don't know how your soil is in your area...but I have no problems hitting 8" to 10" coins here in IL.....IF they are there to be hit.:)

The SEF coil just "sees" coins that the stock coil did not see for me. The pro coil does that too...but it also sees a lot of "phantom holes" for me:smoke:

If you are hunting in clean ground...you might try using manual sensitivity...as some people feel they get a little better depth.

Me personally...I stick with semi auto 90% of the time because the extra stability it provides allows me to hear more subtle chirps...and less falsing.

We all have settings we prefer though...and I'm some others will chime in and give you some tips to help you get more depth.

I only use this coil on 10%-20% of the sites I hunt. It goes deep when the ground is reasonable clean of trash and iron. I don't mean it has to be iron free. Just reasonable trash. I can't honestly say it's so much the depth as the it is the way it hits hard and clear on the stuff the stock coil should be picking up anyway. Maybe it brings the cursor a little more to the right on the deepies and that makes you dig more good ones. To answer your question about pure depth I would just guess an inch or so more than the stock coil. Maybe 2"???? That's at an appropriate site mind you. Reasonably clean ground.

I like the Dog Tag and the Token. Neat finds! Congrats with the Silver's also. It's always fun seeing that Silver peeking out of the dirt. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you with your 10x12 Coil.:detecting:
