S.E.F. coils

Has anyone ever tried an SEF coil on a T2 ? I see that kelly co has them for sale and I was thinking of trying one.

I use the 15"-12" for relic hunting. I really like it, It is very sensitive & deep.

The 12x15 is lighter than the white 15" DD offered by Teknetics. It also gets a little better sensitivity than it on coin size objects but the depth difference over the stock coil is really noted on larger than coin size objects...like belt plates and such.

The one I'm interested in is their new 13" Ultimate coil...supposed to be really light weight and pack a punch. I haven't known of anybody trying one on a T2 yet though...just mostly eTrac people trying them out.

I own and use both the 15x12 and 12x10 SEF coils on the T2 over here in the UK,most of the time the 12x10 i use instead of the stock coil as i see it giving a slight increase in depth but much i find it makes the T2 run smoother and sharper but without adding a great amount of extra weight, the 15x12 is mainly used on pasture and woodland and other locations without too much junk in the ground this coil does give a massive increase in depth hence the reason its best used on pasture and would great for relics but without loosing the ability ro nail coin size objects as well, the pinpointing in bang on the nail for such a big coil. The only down side with the larger SEF is the weight but its alot lighter than the 15inch T2 coil by a massive amount but once you have used it for a few times you end up not noticing it as much.

I dont even carry the stock coil anymore as i tend to just use the 2 SEF's and the great little 5inch coil for stubble and junky condition,so would i give my vote to these coils my opinion is big yes and the build quality is 1st class, one thing i will highlight when using the SEF coils on the T2 you cannot use the standard nut&bolt as the lugs are just a little wider but the minelab 6x60mm bolts works a treat, you may of course get new bolts with the new coils alas i did not that is the only complaint i had against the SEF suppliers.

were is this 13in ultimate coil for the t2 available?

You'll find them. Detech makes them....same people that make the SEF butterfly coils. So I imagine Kellyco will be carrying them before long.
