safari and threshold

Can anyone explain why you would use a threshold on the safari when all the signals have a audio,i know on other minelabs --sovereigns--the threshold going up and down is the signal itself and that going over a unwaned target it nulls ,i shut my threshold off on my safari and have been doing great with the machine ,any input would be appreciated, tony c

Tony,

I also set my threshold setting to ZERO and find alot of the blooming lingering sounds the Safari makes are more tolerable this way. I see no depth loss to speak of, in the ground or a quick air test.

The Safari seems to respond quicker with this setting.

I turn mine down just loud enough to hear the hum, I like it because the hum suts off when I'm over something I'm scrimming, lets me know where iron patches are etc.

Threshold setting impacts the ability to discern the nulling out of a sgnal audibly. You can hear the comb filter null out those frequencies you have set to null out. Threshold allows you to hear this or not.

I leave it alone bu whatever works for you is what counts... Every detectorist and every detector operates differently depending on your individual preferences, techniques, and search objectives.
