Seems like everytime I take the Safari out, I get at least one Indian... This is a beautiful 1906 (picture doesn't do it justice).... got 4 wheats, 1909 VBD, not an S ,
1919, 1945, and 1936. I was using a 8" Sun Ray coil and went over the area in a hurry. "skeeters" humidity, and heat plus wanting to try out an Omega 8000 there, cut into my hunting time....The Safari is a keeper. Richard

Glad you got out..

Been off line for a while for health reasons and just saw your post. I'm a new Safari user and there should be some indians around an area I plan to hunt. Would you mind sharing what they come in as on the Safari, tone and reading? Thanks, Onus

Onus, I've had IH's come in at different numerical values. Some at 37 others at 34. I suppose there are a variety of reasons why the IH pennies (as well as wheats) and old nickels can show a different value at times. Coin depth, position in the ground, degrading coin condition, mineralization of the ground, detector sensitivity level, all seem to affect the numerical value of these coins to some degree. Even a silver dime, on occasion, will not always read a 38 on the display till you get it out of the ground. What I do is simply listen for a good tone, check the value to see if it falls within my "treasure range" (or sometimes not, it all depends on the tone) and then dig it all.
