Hi, i have a question about my safari.....i JUST bought one and so far i love it! but i went on a trip to florida last week and i compressed the shaft for easy transport home in the car.....now i just went to clean it and i cant get it apart! It seems like its frozen...anyone else have this problem? or am i missing something simple here? please help...i really wanna hit the beach after the air show on sunday! (in chicago) Thanks!

You did release the latch on the bottom of the shaft, right?

Sorry, had to ask.
Did you get any salt water on the shaft? Maybe flush the area with fresh water.
Might completely remove the upper and lower shafts from the control housing first.

Thats my best shot.

I am at Corolla Beach NC right now been having same issues have to clean shafts every time in fresh water after each use and is still sticky. When I get home may use car wax on shafts not sure yet.

well i just talked to one of the techs at minlab in illinois....right away he said- yep you got sand inside, he said they have got a bunch back like that and its pretty much locked shut because they are so precisely fitted. He said i could try to soak it overnight in hot water, but im pretty skeptical about that. He also said it should be covered under warranty since i bought it less than a month ago...thank god i live 20 minutes from the new building hopefully i can go there and swap it out for a new one if the soaking deal doesnt work. So keep those shafts clean!!!

I wipe mine down with armoral wipes after 2 or 3 uses cleans the machine like new.

WD-40
