Have not been out detecting for the last 5 weeks straight. Me and my hunting partner Greg(ut) finally hooked up on Saturday morning.
We really did not have anywhere to hunt so we decided to just go over to the most hammered hunted out park in Salt Lake City. We only had about 2 hours and we had to sit out a rainstorm, but finally started to swing. After Greg dug a merc, I went to a spot in the park where I had found a few coins before. First dig was one crappy signal but the slight chirp of coin rang in my ears. Out popped the 1856 seated dime, WOW this is the oldest coin to date for me. I would have never believed you could find a coin that old in SLC. It is really worn so I

I was with Garry H. a couple weeks ago. He brought over a seated dime that he could not read the date on. I carry a small magnifying glass with me. He could not believe it when I told him it was an 1857.

Not from Liberty Park. It was up north a bit.
Yesterday I did ferrit out the <STRONG>very last silver coin </STRONG> from Liberty Park (ha ha). It was just barely silver, a 1960 Rosie.
