Im pretty excited as a Texan. My explorer and I will be enlisted in official capacity for the next three weeks at the San Jacinto Battle Ground (sight of Texas independance). Cant beat that!

Sounds like and interesting gig...... dont forget the pictures. I for one would like to see whats found. Those kind of sites are drying up quickly. If it werent for our hobby a lot of those relics would never be found and enjoyed. Seems they dont mind us doing the work... but any thing of worth is supposed to be turned over to the government. Odd how that works. Im excited for you.... good luck.

Yes I am am assuming they wont have any problems with me photographing anything interesting we might turn up. If so I'll be sure to post them.

You're going to have fun even if you can't keep what you find. I volunteered a week of my time to detect Fettermans massacre in Wyoming some years back. Had a blast and we dug all kinds of artifacts. Is this a passport in time dig? Didn't see it if it was? Just put my name in for about 6 projects that are coming up in 2010. Hope I get picked for at least one.

Keep us posted and take lots of pictures.

Its going good. A lot of work and very hot though. So far the soil in the areas weve worked has been very disturbed with few finds, but we have a lot of ground to cover.
