Scooping in the water requires a large scoop than what is necessary for dry or just wet sand. Quality made scoops are not cheap. If I did not already have a scoop I would get the Sunspot Stealth 920. Built to last and guaranteed. No it is not cheap but if you use cheap you will spend a lot of money replacing those scoops. Regardless of what people say they will not last.

Sunspot Stealth 720 with a carbon fiber handle is what I have been using for the last 6 years and love it. I hunt 7 days a week on the beach and I've tried them all and only the Sunspot Stealth has held up to the heavy use I put them through. I have had to return one for a broken weld after 3 years and it was repaired and return fast at no cost other than shipping back to them. I'm a very big guy and the 720 is the perfict size for me I did try the 920 a friend has and there is no way I want to lift that scoop with a load all day, it is a monster LOL.

Just saying amen to Larry's 720 over 920 comments. You are looking at 1 inch wider on each side. If you get the target in that inch it may be once in a blue moon, but you will have a much heavier load EVERY TIME you scoop! I don't care how strong you are, it will wear you down faster. The 720 is pretty close to perfect! If you hunt a lot on the beach, you cannot afford a cheap scoop. One injury and you are in the hole. Of course it's a free country, go cheap and it's your arm.

I have both the 920 and 720 stealth scoop and both are amazing. It’s expensive to add the carbon fiber handle but it’s totally worth it in what you save on weight.

I have been using a Stavr scoop from the Ukraine for about 6 years now and love it! (Moonstrik 6 to be exact).

People warned me about having a poor quality scoop and that it would break pretty quick, so I bought a 720i just incase.

That was 2 years ago and it's still brand new in its box waiting for the Stavr to break.

Just Google Stavr Scoop and have a look, lots of people use them and you won't be disappointed with it.

The only thing you have to consider with any scoop is the floor that you will be digging in. You want the holes to be big enough to let the crap out, but not lose the good stuff.

Its a dang good scoop! I like the Sunspot 920i for my local in-water hunts (when I'm not recovering with my dredge). Before Sunspot came out, the RTG Pro6 (or its previous older sibling) was the only scoop for me. RTG is still the one I pack when I'm traveling. I do miss the old duckbill scoop. Wish they would make that model again.

I use a DIABLO duck bill sand scoop with zero welds. Aircraft aluminum with SS back plate and a CF handle. It’s my favorite scoop. I also use a 920 i hybrid scoop in really tough shell and rock bottoms. I think Xtreme and Stavr make very nice scoops as well.

Stealth 920. Don’t waste your money on the oak handle, go straight to the carbon fiber.

I prefer the Stealth 720i with the Carbon Fiber handle. It’s the perfect balance of weight and design. Had Rtg, Stavr, 920i and are all gone but the 720i. Good luck!
