Sand Shark

New member
Bought a Sand Shark from a member here last week a received it on Thurday, took it out out yesterday for 4 hours everything worked great, when I got home I sprayed it with fresh
water took everything apart and cleaned it up took out the battery's and put it away. Went out on low tide today hunting about an hour the thing started acting up making a pulsating
sound not the normal threshold one and I also noticed that I had lost about half depth when comparing to make my scoop sound off. I was hunting directly across the Chesapeake
Bay from Aberdeen Proving Grounds about 6 miles as the crow flies so I figured some sort of EMI. As I've been told that pulse machines are prone to this so I packed it up and
headed home. Got home turned on the machine same thing, kinda made me think something else is wrong so I broke down the machine and pulled out the battery holder and one
of the battery's had busted and leaked all inside the unit. So should I call Tesoro tomorrow and let them clean it up or try something myself. And by the way I'm not blaming the
member I bought it from in any way the unit was as advertised when I received it.

I'd give them a call and ask what to use to clean it up. If after clean up it still acts up with fresh batteries, call them again to see where to go from there.

A pulsating threshold is what I get when I get near some hotels at the beach and at inlets when some of the boats come in and when some other detectors get near.
Good luck!
