Satisfied with your Bounty Hunter?

I have a quick draw11 and am satisfied with it, but am wondering if maybe I bought it too quickly without doing enough research.I think I might have bought a ace 250 if I had it to do all over again.Everyone seems to say how great that detector is.I don't know how much better that detector is compared to mine.It just seems like bounty hunter isn't considered a serious detector, compared to White,Fisher,Garrett and others. The only detector I've used is a Bounty Hunter so I have nothing else to compare it with.Has anyone else used other detectors and can give an honest comparison. Thanks, be interested to read your comments. Dave

Yes. I'm very satisfied with the performance of my Sharp Shooter II. And I'm amazed that I was able to find a MD to fit my needs for $175 delivered.

I think the better question to ask is, "Am I able to find what I'm looking for with my QD II?" If the answer is yes, what do you care what others think about Bounty Hunter?

But if you had asked what I think about the cheesy Bounty Hunter detector bag...I'd have told you that I'd like to have my money back!

Just my .02 worth. HH

Thanks for the replies, I'm just going to keep using and learning my detector and maybe in the future upgrade to a water detector, as I live in Florida. Right now I am really enjoying the hobby.

im new to md'ing to and the first md i got was the ace 250 witch i like it but i also got a bounty hunter the other day and i have found some stuff with it that i didnt with the ace for some odd resson but i think with time you will find some good stuff :detecting:

Having been out of MD'ing for over 20 years I decided to get a "cheap" MD to see if I really wanted to get back into it. I found a BH Prospector (Tk IV) on clearance for $99. It worked better than anything I had 20 years ago. I than purchased headphones and the 10" magnum coil. I love it. I detect where people carry the expensive detectors and at first I felt a little out of place. Now it is like bring it on! I have actually walked behind a guy with a top of the line White's and was pulling stuff he missed! It is not the price of the machine or how many bells and whistles it has, it is YOU the person learning the machine, taking your time, and digging.

My machine did not cost a ton of hard earned money (even with the head phones and extra coil), and the weight is almost nothing so you can swing it all day. Another big bonus is if I break it, lose it, or it gets stolen, I will buy another one and not have to get a second on my house to do so.

Mike

You have a good point about the price Mike, I believe they are a great detector for the money, and I am learning more each time I use it.I'm starting to feel much better about my Quick Draw.
thanks, Dave

i have rs versions of landstar, tracker iv and a discovery 3 and i love them all. simple good performers.

:bounty:I have a Pioneer 202 that I picked up and just love it. Better than any other one I have had,Let everyone think they are bad there will be more fine's for us.:bounty:

I responded to a forum before with this same ?. The answer is are you willing to do the work and the walk and learn your unit. If the answer is yes and you have not broke your budget and are having fun and finding treasures pull tabs and all! Then it is a great MD. Yes I have owned and used at least 7 BH detectors (70's to the present) I've since moved own to other makes as your ? asked about some are better in diff. area's as in. I can now hunt wet salt water beaches. But still the BH/MD will always be my favorite. Why because I became 1 with my Unit and I found a lot with it . One of these BH/MDer's that I owned is now with a friend that has introduced his family to MDing.. His kids have found many-a-treasure and can't wait to go MDing with dad. I listen to his stories about their finds and think how lucky I was to buy a Bounty Hunter so long ago. I enjoy my moments in the soil & sand because I was able to afford a BH/MD. It is a great machine!!!Thanks for listening!!!

Thanks for all the replies,I think I just have to keep learning my detector.I do get discouraged when I don't find all those rings and bracelets, but I can't hardly wait get out there hunting again as soon as I can.I guess it's in my blood now.
Thanks everybody,Dave

the 2 bh detectors i own a101 and a 202 are good values for the money. my nautilus lf is a good deep seeker too but is so heavy. my whites coinmaster 3 is also a good machine, anything w/in 8 in. of the surface belongs to me!!! all detectors have different capabilities, even those made by the same co. i have found good stuff w/ the 202 that way more expensive detectors missed. good luck, yall

I got a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II two months ago.
I haven't been MDing for about twenty five years.
My first metal detector was a Technetics. It was the first "Motion Discrimination" metal detector. The original Technetics company was founded on the development of motion discrimination.
My detector broke, and then I got married and had kids.
My wife passed away, my kids got older and now I'm a retired surveyor in the state of Arkansas.
The MDing bug got me again! My youngest son thinks I've gone nuts!!

I don"t have much money, thats why I bought a Bounty Hunter.
The QD II seemed to work well but I was reading all the hype on the Internet and wanted to up grade.
I found a used Garrett GTAx 500 which is just like the GTAx 550 but different coil and a ding sound on coin signals. It's supposed to be one of the best mid range detectors. It cost more than twice as much as my QD II.
I've had the Garrett for a month now. At first all I used was the Garrett.
Now the Garrett has become my second detector.
Both detectors air test a quarter at around 10 inches, the Garrett about one half inch more.
But the QD II runs much smoother with less false signals even with the sensitivity turned all the way up.
In the field I can go back to places I detected with the Garrett and using the QD II pull coins and other items from deeper depths that the Garrett missed.

There's way too much hype about metal detectors. The most important tool you can use to find precious items is your brain.

I got some photos of finds but I don't know how to make them small enough to upload. A photo can only be 450 KB? Nuts!

:bounty:You are 100% right about all the hype on metal detectors, they all have there pluses . I think as people we all think there is some thing better and some times there is ,but I have read posts where someone is still using the first detector they got and still finding a lot of things. We just have to learn our machines, and believe what they are telling us. Just my 2 cents, I am not an expert, just love to metal detect and see what I find.

 The Bounty Hunter detectors are way under rated. I have done well with them and never had a problem with any of them. They are good detectors. One major complaint is the "quality" of the detector and they are "plastic". Well,... you boys should take better care of your toys! You cant just toss them around, bang on them, and never clean them and expect them to last! In my opinion you cant beat what you get for the money and BH customer service is # 1. Sure, dealers complain about them because they don't make as much money from sales, duh:rolleyes: I am loyal to another company at present. But if things dont change soon I am going to get a Time Ranger and just forget the rest:jump:

Hay Dirtfisher

I'll tell ya, when some of these guys buy these high dollar machines and find something, they become sort of like exspirts. You know what a exspirt is don't cha. That's a has been little squirt.

They also become snobs after spending all that money they have to justify it.

I'm not saying you don't get more when you spend more money, you do. You gain small advantages BUT

I can out hunt most of thoes newbies with their mindlabs and whites because the most important tool you can use to find treasure is your brain. You have to train it to hunt.

Bounty Hunter offers high performance metal detectors at a bargain price.

Tersoro offers performance at a value also.

I'm not ashamed to say it. These detectors are, for the most part " WORK HORSES". They'er my choice.

Their just not as showy but they get the job done without killing your arm.

Thats my 2 cents

I just sold my Garrett but I ain't gettin rid o my Quick Draw II or my Cibola

Keep on swingin
