Saturday's finds include a pair of nice firm JUGS! What more could a guy ask for?

Got out for about 6 or so hours Saturday and found a few nice finds. I picked up another 8 Silver. I found an 1876-cc Seated Liberty Quarter about 9"+ deep. There is a seperate pic of Quarter front and back also. I also found 4 Barber Dimes dated 1892,1901-0,1902, and 1910, 2 Merc's dated 1944-d and 1945-d and also 1 Roosevelt Dime dated 1954. I also found an 1895 V-Nickel. For Pennies I found 16 Wheats dated 1911,1914,(4)1919,1919-s,1926-d,1928-d,1929-d,1935-d,1936-d,1938-d,1945-d,1946-d,1948-d and I also found 1 Canadian Penny dated 1944. For the Misc. finds, they included 2 10 cent play coins and 1 25 cent play coin, 2 Keys, and I also found a nice pair of firm round JUGS! Someone must have gotten tired of playing with them and left them behind! Your sense of humor is only surpassed by your finds James! Be sure to keep your hunt site a secret....with the kinds of finds you're making!!!:jump::clapping:

I can't compare my liberty half dollar to the nice stuff you have been finding lately James..........:) You definately have a good spot and I'm sure you will find a lot more nice old coins before you will ever say, "this spot is worked out"............:) Keep up the great finds. HH.

I sure hope to see you post a pic of a Seated sometime this year. Good Luck and HH.

Only a select few know of the location of this site. I sure love finding old coins in quantity and it sure is getting harder to find sites like this now days. Hope you find yourself a Honey Hole and Good Luck and HH.

You are doing good so far this year, been taking Barber boy with you I take it. He must be doing good too as I haven't heard from him yet.
I just don't seem to get out much anymore, but hope we can hit that park up at Lisbon soon.Tried the fairgrounds on Sat, but just one Wheaties and a couple new coins, so it is pretty clean on coins.
Went out last Monday and I got skunked with the Explorer, but my wife got a very nice 1920S standing lib at the site we were at with her MXT.
Keep up the good work James and you may just be number 1 in the find of the year contest and Tim #2

It seems to me that you guys find more seated quarters than dimes up that way. Around here in Wiscoinsin my ratio is about 1 to 7 quarters to dimes. I think there is more dimes to be found but if that quarter was down 9" be pretty hard to get a dime that deep.

I wonder if out on the prairie the black soil builds up faster and stuff gets buried deeper. I still remember the sod at that ball park I met you and Rick at. Sod/roots were about 4" deep.

I bet if you got a WOT you might start getting more deep dimes.

Chris

These have been hard to find and yet to get one, but have over 20 seated dimes in my years of detecting, but no quarters. One of the guy here got 2 seated halves too before a seated quarter, now he find 2 in one week.
I hope if you make it up this way we can all get together and do some hunting.

Rick

There is a lot of deep targets that the Explorer cannot reach because there is signals that try to sound off but the target is too deep for the Explorer to reach. I was finding items that range down to almost the bottom of the depth meter and they would only give a small chirp and I am positive that I left targets behind due to this. Maybe someday I will have to get a WOT and try it at this site. Thanks for the reply and Good Luck and HH on finding more of those elusive Seated Coins.

You just have to work your site with a slow swing and a tight pattern thats all. And it might be a little luck also that produces great finds like the ones I have been making this year so far. Hope you are finding some older coins and relics and hope to see you at the next meeting!

I sure hope that I am not making it hard for Tim this month with my finds Rick! Dale's been finding a few Barber as well but he has only been out a little. He has found 2 nice tokens though, one is a 5 cent and the other is a 2 cent token. I think the park is pretty much overgrown now and a person is probably going to have to wait until fall now since the Ticks and Mosquitoes are out in force now. Good to hear that your wife was able to get out with you again and found a Standing Liberty Quarter. Me and BarberBoy are going to try and stop in sometime this week so I hope you are able to hit one of those old Farmsites you have and find a few more keepers.
