I grew up living near Oregon State University and have followed the team all my life (too many years to admit). I got to go to my first football game after all these year, thanks to the hospitality of my friends mother-in-law. Seats on the 20, thirty rows up. Nice people around us. And best yet, a blow out win over the Washington Huskies! Life is good! :)

So glad you got to go to the game! Congrats on the win over the Huskies (I think)! I'm not real familiar with too many of the teams outside the SEC; only a handful. Sounds like you had a super time! God blesses us with the little things we enjoy and not only the things we need! It's nice to have good seats and be in a section with nice folks! I'm truly happy for ya!

I go to our high school's games every Friday night but it's been a while since I've been to an Alabama or Tennessee game. The whole time I was growing up I was pretty much forced to go to almost all the Alabama games (up until I was about 13, or so). My family is some of the biggest Bama fans in the state and hardly ever missed a game... and felt that I, too, MUST attend them all! Ha! My sister attended the University of Alabama for her Bachelors and Masters degrees, but got her EDS and PhD. from Georgia Southern University since she was living just outside of Savannah, Ga. at the time. Tuscaloosa, Al. (where the U of A is located) is only an hour and a half away, but I decided to stick closer to home for my degrees and went to Jacksonville State University (about 40 miles away). I wish the JSU Gamecocks well, but don't really follow them. My parents & aunt finally stopped going to the games a couple of years ago due to age and health - in their late 70's and early 80's now. I could go to one most anytime I wanted but find that I enjoy it much more on TV. I can see EVERYTHING so much better and not miss a play, call, or anything else. I can go to the bathroom anytime I choose and NOT have to wait in line! And can eat some good home cookin', take out, or unhealthy snacks without paying six prices for it! lol!

Rentasquid, I hope you get to go again and will enjoy it even more the next time around! :)

I lived in Washington State from 1946 until I retired in 1999. Their arrogance has ALWAYS been unacceptable to me. Now I have a son-in-law who is a rabid Huskies fan, go figure? I ALWAYS rooted for Washington State and sent his son a Montana Grizzlies t-shirt when I moved here. :bouncy:

You guys and gals sure like your sports! Ma used to play a few times in our Volley Ball Games and watch the Basket Ball Games but that was years ago in the 50's when I was in high school! Don't care for most sports now except for the Olympic's and Bowling Championship Games! Enjoy most all the womens and mens sports during the Olympics! Figure Skating is the best! Keep on, keepin' on with Jesus and enjoying life to the fullest if you are able to! God Bless! Betty

Yep, I DO love my college/SEC football! And high school football, ladies softball, some major league baseball, and tennis.

High School football, ........... great sport, and a great way to spend a Friday evening. Lots of excitement, energy, and fun.

I was exposed to sports all during my childhood, and we didn't have TV like today. My dad almost played professional baseball,(signed a contract but was injured during WWII) and while baseball was his favorite, he loved all sports with a passion. I remember as a little kid going to Arizona State University football and baseball games, minor league Pro baseball games, sprint and stock car races, professional boxing events, and of course every Friday night we went to the local High School football games. My dad always seemed to know many of the participants of all these sports and we always spent time after the games down on the field talking to those people after the games. It was reallly great and I have very found memories of all those wonderful times.

I was blessed with the ability to play and coach Ice Hockey, and in my life I have found sports a great way to share my faith as well as just having an absolute blast. I sure hope they have rinks in Heaven because I plan to play a lot of hockey there.

Don't know about Heaven, Zectron, because we won't be there very long but will be with Jesus when He returns the second time, after we've been raptured up, when He comes and sets up His Millinial reign for a 1000 years of peace on earth! There will be animals and probably sports and those things we like to do when not serving Him, for Jesus wants to please His own! Amen! God Bless! Betty
