Hunting Rights Score !!!

I'm really excited ok ok heres the deal, where I live the school systems lock access to the facilities after hours with all the insane tagging and general destruction of school property. Unfortunately that leaves decent law abiding citizens without the ability to hit some of the more favorable spots at these schools .
OK ! heres the good part one of my best pals is the head maintenace supervisor for the entire Modesto California school district. So we were talking the other day and I mentioned how difficult it is to locate prime detecting spots, then he Say's to me what do you mean?

I tell him I have been detecting for about six years now, then he Say's I had no idea why don't you take me detecting some time. Ive known this guy 20 years and some how the subject never came up. Funny the things you learn about your spouse or friends WOW.

It gets even better he gives me his private work number tells me anytime I want to go detecting as long as its after school hours. All I need to do is call him ahead of time or drop his name to the custodian on site .
This is huge what a privilege !! so now I get to cover these sites some are a hundred years old and others are newly built on old farm lands.
I'm just stunned at this blessing

I had to share don't be hatin now I got lucky. So if you live in the Modesto,Turlock ,Merced area I'll be selling access tickets for $20, just kidding I'll keep every one posted as I am able to spend time at these site .This is going to be fun

Well maybe as I'm searching these SCHOOL'S I can get some lessons in spelling (I was so excited I misspelled my topic header) Shool

Definition of SHOOL
intransitive verb
1
chiefly dial : to drag or scrape along : shamble, shuffle
2
: to loaf or idle about begging : loiter, saunter
3
shool [ʃuːl]
n
(Engineering / Tools) a dialect word for shovel

LOL kinda works permission to shovel

Ahhh....Good old government. Where only a few are allowed certain privileges because of connections. I'm happy for you, but I can't help feel that it isn't fair to other people in this hobby that live in that area who are paying taxes for those schools too. In an ideal world the fair thing would be that if one person is allowed to then everybody should.

Sorry, don't mean to wax philosophically. Good for you and hope to hear about all the great finds you make.

Congrats on your scoring some fabulous sites j-man .Personally , I would have been afraid to post all the details on the Internet especially naming locations or the title of the one giving the permission .
I hope someone doesn't read this who would make waves and mess up your opportunities by trying to cash in on the info you have given . You just can't be too trusting nowadays . I hope you can get out there and make some good finds .

Happy hunting and thank the Sergeant for serving our country .

Any of my local fellow detectorist are welcome to arrange a hunt with me . I would enjoy sharing the experience and fellowship

Response to Dirt Doctor:

Appreciate your advice . Yes there are those you troll to take advantage . But they would certainly need more information and the secret pass word which I did not mention.

I think this is a great opportunity for all us local detectorist. I would love to share this experience with my brothers in the game. So as this unfolds and I get to befriend the local custodians gain there trust, I will certainly invite others along. As you know it wouldn't take much to ruin this privilege.

Gonna take some baby steps , and we shall see how this goes

And thank you for mentioning my son, truly appreciate that.

He is back from two tours in Iraq and going to finish out at Fort Hood TX.

He is a patriot that understands our history, and he honors both of his grandfathers who are now passed but each served in WWII . One was a paratrooper who landed three days after D Day and my father who landed on the beaches of Normandy on D Day.

They shared many of there truly amazing stories of the unselfish men, heroes those who sacrificed to preserve our freedoms unfortunately so many today are not taught about.
