I was at San Clemente SB camping and detected the beach were the surf camp is at. I thought I would do good but heck, 23 cents and a railroad spike . These finds were all dug at 10" plus.Turns out there were 3 other guys with detectors camped also in the camp ground. Looks like I got the finds only a scorp could find. I went back to another surf camp and did a little better, found a coin from Costa Rica and one from new zealand plus one from spain.

Nice finds. The metal spike withe the two prongs looks like a divot repairer for golf.

Nice hunt!:detecting:Glad to see that you're diggin' those pulltabs.:thumbup:Either one o'those coulda been a diamond ring, huh:wiggle:Thanks for sharing!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Still waiting for my first diamond ring, got another weeks vac at the beach in 4 weeks, maybe I'll be lucky because school will be in session and the beach will be deserted.I just realized that pull tab is an antique, I can't remember when they stopped making them but I remember making fishing lures out of them with my dad about 50yrs ago it seems like:surprised:

I'm lazy and run in the motion mode where I don't have to ground balance because I get good depth in the dry sand. as I move to the wet sand I still do OK but the closer I get to the water the nosier it gets, when I give up the sand is getting watery and the detector is so noisy its useless. one day I have to take the time and try ground balancing but when I start finding the clad I get excited and don't want to stop.
