Sorry, Absolutely NONE. I didn't know it was that bad!! In fresh water that crud just comes off after the coin has dried. I have no experience with salt water. Maybe someone else has the answer. I just didn't know if you realized that the 1916D is the most coveted of the merc dimes. It would be a rarew find if you did have one. I have found 2 1926 S ones that I sold for 100.00 each. They would have been worth 175.00 each had I not rubbed the dirt off to see the mint mark!! I scratched the coins. Not once but TWICE!!!
