SD-2100 circuitry

Does the SD2100 MPI detector circuitry operate at a constant power supply voltage all the time,or does this voltage decrease as the batterey votage decreases with time? What is the Maximum battery voltage this unit can handle?

Mark,
The stock 6 volt battery of the 2000-2200 range of SD's does decline in voltage over the course of the days hunt. Coiltek has come out with a 7.3 volt regulator and 12 volt battery combo which stays at a steady 7.3 volts all day. The SD's have been tested by Coiltek and they have found that they will run safely up to 8 volts but chose the 7.3 as a safe comprimise. There have been some discussions about this recently on Doc's forum is you'd like to read them. Regards, RD
